💡 Openness is about open communication between all parties involved in the product development, not only the Scrum Team itself but also the stakeholders. It’s about the information about progress, work, and challenges

âś… Encouraged behaviors #

  • Letting the team know if there are issues hindering work progress as soon as they arise.
  • Openly sharing progress status with a wider audience in the organization.
  • Actively providing opinions and ideas in discussions.
  • Asking for help when needed and asking questions when something is unclear.
  • Being open to feedback and criticism as an opportunity to improve.
  • Being open to changing the ways of working to become more effective as a team.
  • Making an effort to help everyone understand and be on the same page.

❌ Discouraged behavior #

  • Waiting too long before sharing information with others.
  • Avoiding to invite stakeholders or anyone who the team doesn’t know personally to Sprint Reviews.
  • Withholding information, trying to become indispensable source of knowledge.
  • Holding to the status quo.
  • Disregarding or not taking seriously others’ ideas and opinions.
  • Telling white lies about the progress status or issues.
  • Being unclear around work being done.
