Value: Courage

💡 Courage is the toughest value to follow, especially in organizations that traditionally don’t have high levels of trust. Courage is about willing to be vulnerable for the benefit of the team’s and product’s success, and customers’ satisfaction.

âś… Encouraged behaviors #

  • Voicing concerns, including when it comes to personal interactions or even conflicting situations.
  • Admitting mistakes.
  • Speaking up regardless of hierarchy.
  • Giving constructive criticism to others and holding others accountable to their commitments.
  • Working in uncertain business environment with high unpredictability.
  • Having uncomfortable conversations if needed.

❌ Discouraged behavior #

  • Avoiding conflict.
  • Hiding mistakes.
  • Playing nice due to the fear of hurting someone’s feelings while leaving issues without solutions.
  • Refusing to do refinement or work unless all the information is fully available when it comes to creative or complex work.
