The team commits to the Product Goal when working on their Product Backlog.
Product Goal is created by the Product Owner with the help of stakeholders, the team, and any other parties PO believes need to give input.
Product Goal drives the Product Backlog, but it doesn’t limit it. We may have some work items in our PB that are not directly related to the Product Goal. However, if we need to make a choice, the Product Goal related work will take priority.
Characteristics #
A team can only be working toward a single Product Goal at a time. They must accomplish it or abandon it before taking on another Product Goal.
The Product Goal should be measurable and time-bound, however, this is not a requirement.
Release objectives and other milestones can become Product Goals.
Example #
A few examples of Product Goals for our chat mobile app:

- Create a seamless integration with the 5 main messenger platforms (platforms specified in advance)
